G. Buvaneswari, Dr. S. Annapoorani
Abstract :
Lactic acid bacteria usually used as starter cultures in food technology are known to manufacture antimicrobial products having immense potential. Our study aims to isolate potential strain of lactic acid bacteria with probiotic characters. Five Lactic acid bacterial strains were isolated from the milk product samples. The culture supernatant was screened for antimicrobial activity against E.Coli. Among the five BJJ12 sample shows the maximum activity (12mm). So,the BJJ12 strain was assigned to the genera Bacillus, on the basis of their morphological, biochemical, physiological characteristics. The 16s rRNA gene sequencing revealed that the BJJ12 strain belongs to Bacillus amyloliqufaciens
