CLINICO PATHOLOGICAL STUDY OF ORAL CAVITY LESIONS IN A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL

Abstract :
Oral cancer or mouth cancer deals with any cancerous tissue growth in pertaining to the oral cavity. They are predominantly squamous type. However, incidence among women and younger patients is in increasing trends in south East Asian countries.
AIM:
To determine the incidence of oral cavity lesions in various sites of oral cavity, age , gender distribution and analysis of distribution of various histopathological lesions.
MATERIALS AND METHODS:
90 histopathologically reported cases were taken and its age, site, sex incidence and histological type were analysed.
CONCLUSION:
In our study group, males were found to be predominant(76%), the age group was 61–70 yrs (34.44%) and most common site was tongue(42.22%)
