Abstract :

INTRODUCTION: Osteoarthritis of the hip is one of the oldest afflictions of mankind. Noncemented total hip arthroplasty was developed in response to evidence that cement deis plays an important role in promoting bone lysis and loosening. Almost all patients who consult the surgeon do so because of intractable pain. Many patients also have limitation of the motion but the primary goal of operative treatment is to relieve pain. MATERIALS AND METHOD The study was carried out on 34 hips of 33 patients of Total HipReplacement .All confirmed cases of various Osteoarthritic conditions of hip were admitted.pre–operative harris hip score was assessed.Patients were operated with Uncemented Total Hip Arthroplasty .then post operative radiography was done.then post operative harris hip score and complications are noted. RESULTS This study was conducted on patients with age ranging from 19 to 70 years with a mean age of 38.88 years at the time of surgery.In this study, 28 (84.84%) were males and 5 (15.15%) were females.12 were affected on Right hip, 11 were affected on left hip and 7 were affected with Bilateral hips. Mean preoperative Harris hip score was 37.24, ranging from 25–45. This score had improved postoperatively to 88.84 (Range = 66 – 96). CONCLUSION the outcome of total hip arthroplasty without cement is determined by multiple factors, including the design of the component, the selection of the patients, and the operative technique. The results of the procedure must be evaluated in long–term studies. Our study suggests that the current generation implants without cement can provide satisfactory clinical and radiographic outcomes after an intermediate duration of follow–up.
