The emergence of Covid–19 virus in China is creating havoc across the globe. As the information regarding the novel Corona virus is continuously being renewed. The latest addition being its airborne nature. However, the virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The virus is continuously spreading, even though the newer drugs and vaccines are being experimentally tried for cure. Since, there is no specific treatment for the virus till now, the best option is to adopt preventive approaches. Dental health care personnel (DHCP) are at increase risk of exposure to saliva, blood and other body fluids, hence the risk of cross infection is much higher. Lot of reviews about dental precautions regarding corona virus is being published. Hence, this article provides an overview of the modes of transmission in dental settings, their clinical implications and different modifications that will be required in future to practice clinical dentistry.
