Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is the standard of care in locally advanced breast cancer (LABC). The reliable assessment of response to chemotherapy is important for further management of patient. This is a prospective, observational study carried out on 56 patients of LABC presenting to surgical OPD, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, and Varanasi from September 2017 to June 2019. Response to NACT was evaluated clinically, radiologically and histopathologically after 3 cycles according to RECIST criteria 1.1 All patients showed either partial response (83.3%) or had stable disease (16.7%).None showed complete response or progressive disease.78.57% of hormone receptor positive patients showed partial response but triple negative breast cancer patients showed maximum response. MRI was found to be the most sensitive (94.44%) investigation with a diagnostic accuracy of 80%.
