Aim: To study the surgical outcome in Conjunctival Limbal Autograft Transplantation (CLAT) by sutured and suture less technique in pterygium excision. Methodology: This descriptive longitudinal study was conducted on 80 patients undergoing pterygium surgery by sutured and suture less techniques. Patients were examined on post–operative day 1, one week, one month and three months for discomfort, inflammation, graft security and recurrence. Results: The discomfort was significantly more in Sutured technique as compared to Sutureless (p=0.0001). Inflammation was significantly more in Sutured technique as compared to Sutureless (p=0.0001). Graft stability was significantly less in Sutureless as compared to Sutured technique (p=0.0001). Rate of recurrence (2.5%) was low in sutureless group as compared to sutured group (10%). Conclusion: sutureless technique has better surgical outcome for inflammation, discomfort and recurrence. Graft stability was better in sutured technique.
