Aim: Transmission of microorganisms from both recognized and unrecognized sources in hospitals are a potential risk factor and it can be from patient to patient or from patient to the doctor/staff and also among the staff. The current study aims to determine the acquaintance, perspective and application of cross infection control among clinical practitioners. Materials and methods: A pre–validated Proforma was prepared and given to clinical practitioners to record their responses which were later analysed. Results: Poor knowledge on personal protection equipment was found among those who were surveyed. Rationale behind each of the procedures was understood by responders and was considered important by them. Also, adherence to the protocol of Infection control Practice was followed by most of the practitioners. Conclusion: Greater emphasis should be placed on the knowledge of the transmission of diseases in the clinical setup, particularly in dental clinics. Results obtained from this study will add to the local database of information on Cross Infection Control for future reference.
