A Study dealing with patients injured by fireworks was conducted from November 2017 to November 2019 admitted at a tertiary care centre Civil Hospital Ahmedabad. In this period there were 75 injured patients, with a predominance of males; the age group most affected was below 12 years. It is observed that Burn accidents occurred with greatest frequency during Diwali, between 8 p.m. and midnight. The most frequent injury–causing agents were firecrackers, sparklers and sppiners. The upper limbs, head and neck were the most affected parts of the body. The domestic use of fireworks should be supervised and strictly regulated.
