Research design and methods: Fifty patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus aged between 30 – 70 years were enrolled for the study. All the patients were assessed for thyroid dysfunction by investigating T3, T4 and Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). Thyroid dysfunction was more common in females when compared with males and subclinical hypothyroidism was most common ending. No correlation between age, gender, duration of diabetes or HbA1C levels between euthyroid patients and patients with thyroid dysfunction was found.
