Background: Leprosy is the most ancient disease seen in India since 6th century BC is a nonfatal chronic inflammatory disease caused by Mycobacterial Leprae. It is a crippling and infectious disease affecting skin, PNS, eyes, testes, upper respiratory tract. Skin biopsy plays an important role in diagnosis and management of Leprosy. Methods: This is a retrospective and prospective study of disease of total 40 cases over the period of 3 years attending Dermatology OPD and ward. Results: Out of 40 cases, histopathological diagnosis of BT was seen in 13 cases (32.5%), TT in 10 (25%), LL in 08 (20%), BL in 05 (12.5%) and IL 04 (10%). Conclusion: Histopathological study of skin biopsy in leprosy plays an important role for diagnosis and management.
