The Evaluation of the Risk of Falling in Pediatric Patients

Abstract :

Purpose of this study determining the risk and factors effecting falling in child inpatients. This is a definitive study. The data was gathered between 1 January 2012- 31 December 2012. The study consist of 4346 inpatients with the risk of falling. %55.5 (n=2410) of the patients were male, %41.3 (n=1797) of them were under the age of 3, %68.3 (n=2970) of them were ER patients. According to the Harizmi Falling Scale (HRFS) %79,1 (n=3438) of the patients were in the high risk group, the average of male patients scores was (23,09�10,10) and statistically higher than the female patients score of (22,46�10,35), the HRFS points averages of ER patients were (28,15�9,32 and 26,00�8,80) which is a statistically higher score in points compared to child inpatients in other wards. 9 of the 4346 patients presented a case of falling. The findings attained from our study are in conformity with the literature.
