Abstract :
A novel heterocyclic derivative, 1–(4–butoxy–2–hydroxyphenyl) ethylidene–3,4 dimethoxy benzohydrazide was synthesized by schiff base method. The synthesized product has been characterized by FTIR, 1H and 13C NMR. The powder X–ray diffraction (XRD) pattern has been recorded to investigate the structural properties and it confirms that the title compound, C23H30N2O5 belongs to monoclinic system with a = 18.0720(5), b = 5.3107(5), c = 13.1141(6) and β = 103.002(3). Antimicrobial and antifungal activities of the title compound have been tasted against E.coli, P.aeruginosa, S.aureus and S.pyogenes bacteria and also tested against C. albicans fungus with Gentamycin and K. Nystatin as reference standards drug respectively
