Study of Third Order Statistics in Maize Genotypes
S. Abirami , C. Vanniarajan
Abstract :
An investigation was carried out using forty maize genotypes belonging to grain maize, baby corn, sweet corn, pop corn and quality protein maize, to study the measures of symmetry (skewness), which is a descriptive statistics. The third order statistics, skeweness revealed that nine traits were skewed negatively and sixteen traits were skewed positively, indicating additive and non additive gene action respectively.
