STUDY OF ELECTROLYTE DISTURBANCES IN SEIZURE DISORDERS

Abstract :
Introduction:– This study conducted on children having seizures whose serum electrolyte levels were analyzed. Material & Methods:– Reports of children from 0 to 12 years of age were subjected to mean, standard deviation, standard error of mean and Chi square test. Results:– Test was insignificant expect for serum calcium level which was significantly reduced in infants. Conclusion:– This study suggests electrolyte imbalance is a contributory factor for occurrence of seizures except hypocalcemia in infants (0 to 1 year).
