Abstract :

Serous ovarian cyst adeno–carcinomas account for the largest proportion of malignant ovarian tumors, representing over 50–80% of all malignant epithelial ovarian tumours. The prevalence peaks around the 6th to 7th decades of life. A case of giant papillary cyst adenocarcinoma of ovary in 41 year old woman with metastatic pelvic deposits is reported. She underwent surgical management and chemotherapy with disease free interval for one year. Management of serous papillary cyst adenocarcinoma is challenging. Complete surgical resection without spillage of tumour with adjuvant therapy is the treatment of choice. MRI is the ideal investigation for pre–operative staging of the disease but exploratory laparotomy with post–operative histopathology report is the most reliable for final diagnosis and staging of the disease.
