NASYA KARMA – A BASIC CONCEPT OF AYURVEDA

Abstract :

Nasya karma is mentioned as one of the Shodhan Karma in Ayurveda under Panchkarma. It is a simple procedure to get over various vitiated Doshas. Nasyakarma is a process where in the drug herbalized oils and liquid medicines are administered through the nostrils. Nasya Karma has very important role in dealing with diseases related to ain. In the present article Nasya Karma is systematically introduced as per Ayurveda Samhitas and its importance is revealed for the better health. Various types of Nasya Karma, contraindications, proper procedure, mode of action, drugs used, indicated diseases etc were discussed in details. Nasya Karma is mentioned in Dincharya and it is advisable to everyone for having good health.
