Measurement of Some Thermodynamic and Acoustic Properties of 1–Alkanols in Butylacetate with Cyclohexane at Different Temperatures
T. Sumathi, U. Gnanasheela
Abstract :
In this work, densities (ρ), speed of sound (U) and viscosities (η) have been measured over the whole composition range for the binary mixtures of n–butyl acetate and cyclohexane with 1–propanol, 1–butanol, 1–pentanol and 1–hexanol. From these data, acoustical parameters such as adiabatic compressibility (β), free length (Lf ), Gibbs free energy (ΔG), excess adiabatic compressibility (βE ), excess free length (Lf E ), excess viscosity (ηE ) and excess velocity (UE ) have been estimated using the standard relations. The variation of these properties with composition and temperature are discussed in terms of molecular interactions between unlike molecules of the mixtures.
