Fructose in sweetened food products and its relevance to health

Abstract :
During the last 10 years strong links between fructose consumption and development of the metabolic syndrome was suggested. The aim of this study is to describe the sugar composition of some sweetened products available in the local market. This study helps to raise the public health concern about fructose and its abundant availability in sweetened products.
