Awareness and prevalence of anemia among women: A narrative review

Abstract :
Introduction: Anemia is a serious public health issue throughout the world is widely recognized. In India, up to 88% of pregnant and 74% of non pregnant women are affected.Methods:A comprehensive systematic search of published literature from PubMed, EBSCO was conducted on assessment ofawareness and prevalence of anemia among women in selected villages at Moradabad. That is focusing from 1995 to 2017. Search strategy specific to each database was used.ResultsDuring initial search 1242titles were retrieved and after screening 6 articles were selected for full text screening. Finally 6 research articles were selected based on the inclusion criteria.Conclusion:Present day every person should be self sufficient and self reliant in health for all demands.Assessment of awareness, practice and educational programme regarding anemia are important steps to prevention of anemia in women.
