Abstract :
Ipomoea pes-caprae, also known as Beach Morning Glory or Goat\'s Foot, is a common pantropical creeping vine belonging to the family Convolvulaceae. It grows on the upper parts of beaches and endures salted air. The rare flavonol melanoxetin and 3’,4’ , 6 ,8 - tetrahydroxflavonol-5’- methylether-7-O-neohesperidoside have been identified by means of modern physical methods like UV, H-1 nmr, C-13 nmr , chemical reactions, chromatographic techniques and hydrolytic studies.
