ACTIVE POWER FLOW CONTROL BY STATIC SYNCHRONOUS SERIES COMPENSATOR
Mehta Nimesh Mahendrabhai
Abstract :
Now a day transmission network is interconnected for economical operation and to improve reliability of supply. Due to increase power demand and deregulation leads to complex transmission lines which are heavily stressed. This paper investigates the problem of power flow control in a transmission line with the help of Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC). The static synchronous series compensator (SSSC) is capable of delivering a compensating voltage with an inductive and capacitive range. It is also helpful in power flow oscillation
A case study of 220 kv double circuit line is discussed in this paper. A contingency case is created and power flow control is obtained with the help of SSSC. The complete simulation is done in the MA TLAB/Simulink background and results are discussed.
