A CASE REPORT OF PEMPHIGOID GESTATIONIS WITH POSTPARTUM FLARE

Abstract :

Introduction– Pemphigoid gestationis (PG) is a rare form of pregnancy specific dermatosis. It is an autoimmune blistering disease with incidence of 1 in 50,000 pregnancies, seen more commonly in second and third trimester. It has a fluctuating clinical course during pregnancy. Here is a case report of PG case presenting in third trimester with postpartum flare.Case report– 28 years old G2P1L1 at 35 weeks POG presented with extensive pruritus with multiple vesico–bullous lesions over whole body except face for last 01 months. Oral and topical steroid started followed which lesions subsided but post–delivery flare up seen that showed improvement with steroid. Purpose of reporting is to make clinicians aware of the condition and its potential adverse effect on mother and fetus if not managed correctly.
