What is our Fault? The Burden of infertility on women belonging to lower -income groups

Abstract :

This article explores the struggles of women from lower income groups in accessing Assisted Reproductive Technologies. This study, conducted in Maulana Azad Medical college based in Delhi, where we interviewed women to understand their take on ARTs. A qualitative study by nature, we highlighted issues such as delay in treatment, emotional and physical violence from home and secondary infertility. The main findings throw light on the stratification of class in the tragedy of childlessness.
