SYNTHESISING NATURAL INK FROM INDIAN BERRIES
Shreya Ghosh, Saksham Malik
Abstract :
Objective of this research was to distil inks from natural resources by an aqueous pulp extraction method. Intent of the project was to promote sustainability and minimise health hazards that occur due to VOC emissions. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short– and long–term adverse health effects. The Aim of the project was to provide safe and good quality inks (free of VOCs) for the printing industry. The inks produced as part of this project were found to be effective, easy to apply and the prints were stable too.
