Abstract :

This paper deals “How to select insulation material and on what basis a decision is made concerning material selection and costs” by giving ief write–up about Major insulation materials, criteria for material selection, economic selection, Properties, Applications, Economic thickness of insulation, Location, Design life, Economics of insulation, Case Study and Conclusion. The most important characteristics of any insulation material include a low thermal conductivity, low tendency toward absorbing water, and of course the material should be inexpensive.
