NYMBLE – A Safe System for Onion Router Networks

S. Murali, Anbarasa Pandian Durai, M. Ariya

Abstract :

An anonymous network such as TOR (The Onion Router) conceals the identities of the users and by separating identification and routing it conceals the network activity from surveillance and traffic analysis. The network is an implementation of onion routing that encrypts and randomly bounces the communications through a network of relays. Relays are run by the volunteers around the globe. The onion routers employ the encryption in a multi–layered manner so called the onion metaphor and ensure the perfect forward secrecy between relays by providing the users with anonymity in network location. That anonymity uses the Tors anonymous hidden service feature to extend the hosting of censorship–resistant content.[9] The users can evade the Internet censorship that relies upon blocking public Tor relays[20] by keeping some of the entry relays (idge relays) secret.
