Abstract :

Aims & objectives the main Aim of the study is to assess the impact of nursing intervention of BFHI guidelines among postnatal mothers admitted in Dhiraj General hospital.Background of the study–The Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative was started in India in1993. The Breast Feeding Network of India (BPNI) is the agency responsible for implementing this program in our country. Under this, the hospitals with maternity services have to follow the ten steps. Methodology: A pre–experimental approach was used in the study to assess the Impact of comprehensive nursing intervention regarding BFHI guide lines among post natal mothers in Dhiraj general hospital, Pipria. The Investigator Adopted non probility convenience sampling technique. Sample size 50 post natal mothers in Post natal ward .Results: analysis of findings of the data collected from 50 post natal mothers in the post–natal ward of Dhiraj general hospital. The Analysis was carried out in 2 parts .Demographic characteristics of post natal mothers and analysis of knowledge of BFHI guideline of post natal mothers Findings revealed that pre–test score mean(%) was (43.33%) .Where areas the post– test mean (%) score was (70.53%).The paired ‘t’ test (5.524) shows that the gain in knowledge is highly significant. x2 test is overall non–significance.Conclusion: The study was undertaken to assess the effectiveness of health teaching on knowledge regarding BFHI guidelines among postnatal mother Attending Dhiraj general hospital. .followed by implementation of slide and flash cards. Post test was conducted 5 days after the slide show using the same self structured knowledge questionnaire to find out the effectiveness. The results were analyzed by using both descriptive and inferential statistics
