GREEN HRM–A TOOL OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to study “GREEN”in human resource function by analyzing latest environmental friendly solution and propose development of new model of green human resource management. Green HRM encompasses all activities aimed at helping an organisation carry out its agenda for environment management to reduce its carbon footprint.Green HRM can play a useful role in business in promoting environment related issues by adopting and following green HR policies and practices. Green HRM can enhance corporate image and and. Green HRM will play an important role in making the employees aware of and concerned for preservation of natural resources, exploring alternative resources by adopting a holistic & integrated view of people and contribute in pollution control, waste management and manufacture of eco–friendly products. This paper also examines the nature and extent of Green HR initiatives undertaken by various companies.
