ESTIMATION OF HbA1c, FBS, TC AND TG IN SUBJECTS WITH TYPE II DIABETES MELLITUS
Sankha Simlai
Abstract :
Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Venous blood samples were collected from all known cases of diabetes and controls to analyze Glycated hemoglobin, fasting blood sugar, total cholesterol, triglyceride. The HbA1c showed positive correlation with TC, TG, and FBS. These findings suggest that HbA1c level can be used as good parameter for predictor of dyslipidemia in type II diabetics in addition to as glycemic control.
