DEVELOPMENT AND IMITATION OF EUDRILUS EUGENAE IN DIVERSE MAMMAL WASTES THROUGH VERMICOMPOSTING
R. S. Tambe
Abstract :
Vermicomposting is the process by which worms are used to convert organic materials into a humus like material known as vermicompost,& the goal is to process the material as quickly & efficiently as possible. The vermicompost has more available nutrients per kg weight than the organic substrate from which it is produced. The biological activity of earthworms provides nutrients rich vermicompost for plant growth thus facilitating the transfer of nutrients to plants. The earthworm species most commonly utilized for the eakdown of organic wastes are Eudrilus eugenae
