Coordination Of Pss And Statcom To Enhance The Power System Transient Stability

Abstract :
In this paper Power System Stabilizer (PSS) and Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) is used to enhance the power system transient stability. The combination of PSS and STATCOM is effectively implemented on the IEEE 9 bus system dynamic benchmark. The standard Newton–Raphson method is used to solve the nonlinear power flow equation and integration method used is trapezoidal method. Simulation of studies stated above is implemented using MATLAB/PSAT software.
