Dr. Karthik Chowdary Y, Dr . Kssgc Kumar
Abstract :
Post operative pain control is the prime duty of the anaesthesiologist. The status of pain following a surgical procedure is a combination of pain as a specific sensation due to nerve ending nociceptive response to tissue damage caused by release of histamine and also pain as a suffering. Uncontrolled status of postoperative pain can result as several negative physiological effects that include disturbances of respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, coagulation, renal, autonomic nervous system, endocrine and central nervous system functions.
