T. Christy Chanchu, T. Christy Cresida
Abstract :
Women contribute largely to the country’s development but their needs are not addressed adequately at the right time and place. Their lives are still characterized by low income, ill health, low nutrition and high level of exploitation. The present study is an attempt to throw light on the various dimensions of socio–economic problem of women construction workers in rural informal sector. This sector offers low remunerations for women and they are compelled to enter this sector due to poverty, lack of opening in the formal sector, due to their illiteracy and lack of skill.
