Abstract :
More than 60% of patients who present with symptomatic chronic heart disease have abnormal glucose homeostasis. Patients with DM and established cardiovascular disease have an unfavourable prognosis. In fact, diabetes and insulin resistance are powerful predictors of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The present study is to assess the incidence of L.V diastolic dysfunction in patients with type 2 diabetes and to correlate diastolic dysfunction and HbA1c levels in type 2 diabetic patients.
