Abstract :

OBJECTIVES: To study lipoprotein (a) levels and lipid tetrad index in patients with premature coronary  artery disease. METHODS: A hospital based observational study of lipoprotein (a) and lipid tetrad index in patients with premature  coronary artery disease. RESULTS: a total of 90 patients diagnosed with coronary artery disease were subjected to measurement of serum lipoprotein (a) mean value 65.8, total cholesterol mean value 210.66, triglycerides mean value 207.9 mg.LDL cholesterol  mean value 130.5, HDL cholesterol mean value 43.4 and lipid tetrad index mean value 54286.4. CONCLUSIONS: A positive correlation was observed with elevated lipoprotein (a) and lipid tetrad index with incidence  of premature coronary artery disease.
