Abstract :

The shashtra (Surgical instrument) first time mentioned by father of surgery Acharya Sushrut in Sushrut samhita. The various shashtra (Surgical instrument) is mentioned at different places for different purpose in Ayurveda samhita. This is important during treatment of disease. This concept is useful to learn, to use and to teach to the students. So it is relevant to review the description available in the ayurvedic text books in relation to Surgical instrument.
