Abstract :

Owning a house is the elementary desire of an individual. It is the fundamental requirement for a person. It not only provides a shield to live but also gives financial security for any kind of adverse circumstances. A person can use it as collateral for getting credit from the market. Purchase of a house is normally the priciest transaction for someone in whole of his life on which he spends around ten percent of his yearly earnings. Development in housing industry gives the reflection of a strong economy as economic growth and housing industry have a very sound liaison. Housing Finance Companies play a major role among all housing finance institutions in the enhancement of housing sector. This study is an endeavor to study the performance of Housing Finance Companies in India from FY 2009–19 to FY 2011–12 by reviewing the annual publications of National Housing Bank.
