Abstract :

Technology has evolved over the years and transformed every aspect of our life. The same ap-plies to the dental profession as well. In recent years, electronic devices have been developed for determining the working length of a root canal and have proved to be a powerful adjunct to con-ventional radiographs in accurate measurement. The present article discusses about apex locators in detail including its mechanism of working, classification, various uses and shortcomings.
