EFFICACY OF PANCHGAVYA GHRITA IN PSORIATIC ARTHRITIS

Abstract :

 The word arthritis means inflammation of the joint. Inflammation is a medical term describing pain, stiffness, redness and swelling. Psoriasis is a common condition characterized by scaly red and white skin patches. Psoriatic arthritis is a form of arthritis (joint inflammation) that can occur in people who have the skin disease psoriasis.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 10 to 20 percent of people with psoriasis eventually develop psoriatic arthritis. Male and females are equally predisposed & all age groups are affected. Psychological stress is emphasized as one of the major triggering factor in the exacerbation of the disease. Modern medical science will neither provides adequate pain relief nor deceleration in disease process, but are associated with serious side effects like liver and kidney failure, bone marrow depletion, etc. Hence it is the need of time to find out safe and effective medicine for Psoriasis and here comes the role of Ayurveda. Thus in present study, emphasis has been made to study efficacy of Panchagavya ghrita in Psoriatic Arthritis and different treatment modalities according to Ayurveda.
