Dr Raj Jyoti Das, Dr Anil K Mathew
Abstract :
Background- Dermatofioma sarcoma protuberans(DFSP) of scalp is a rare, low grade, locally infiltrative sarcoma. It originates from the fioblasts in the dermal layer of skin. Case description- We describe such a case in a 39- year old male for whom wide local excision of the lesion with adequate margin was done. Microscopic and immunohistochemical findings established the diagnosis of DFSP. Conclusion- This case is significant as DFSP presenting on the scalp is very rare and accounts for less than 5% of all DFSP occurrence.
