Chromobacterium violaceum: An uncommon bacterium isolated from blood culture.

Abstract :

Chromobacteriumviolaceumsepsis is a rarely reported phenomenon. We report a unique case of C. violaceumsepsis in a female child. A 2-year-old girl presented to our institution with bilateral ear discharge, fever, vomiting, with poor weight gain, diminished activity and mental status. No significant Radiological findings. The infant was successfully treated with ciprofloxacin and gentamicin.
