Abstract :

Globally cancer is the major cause of morbidity and mortality. A progressive rise in the cancer pattern in several regions of Uttrakhand is a serious public health issue. The major risk factors for cancer are tobacco and alcohol abuse, changing life style and unhealthy diet. Therefore, a sound healthcare infrastructure is required to meet healthcare needs of the people in the state. The objective of this study is to systematically review presently available literature relevant to cancer scenario in Uttarakhand and to monitor trends in risk factors of cancer.
