Assessment of knowledge and practice of patients with diabetes mellitus

Abstract :
<p>&nbsp;The present study was intended to assess the knowledge and practice of patients with Diabetes Mellitus.approach is used in this study. A total of 50 diabetic patients in the age group of 20 to 60 years were selected from the hospital by purposive sampling technique. Researcher collected the data by using knowledge questionnaire and practice checklist to assess the knowledge on Diabetes Mellitus and practice usage of glucometer in Diabetic patients. Data were analyzed by using appropriate statistics. From the present study it is clear that 78% had very good knowledge and 22% had good knowledge and 42% of the study subjects have good practice level on Glucometer usage and 58% have average practice level on glucometer. While assessing it is found that there is no significant association between knowledge and practice of diabetic patients with selected demographic variables.</p>
